Congratulations to the PSNI for recovering a significant find of illegal drugs in Limavady. The operation led by the Crime Team is a victory for the community in Limavady and indeed for those lives that would have been tainted by these drugs.

The street value of these drugs is incredible; however, their value serves only the criminals who circulate them.  It is a triumph that the police have taken this batch out of harms way and I support them in their efforts with similar operations in the future.

It saddens me that those involved are young people with a whole life ahead of them.  I hope their punishment, if found guilty, acts as a deterrent not only for themselves, but for anyone tempted by drugs.  There is a much better life out there and it doesn’t involve drugs.

This is an issue that affects the whole community.  If anyone has any information regarding this find or indeed any other drugs related crimes, please pass on to the PSNI to work towards erasing these dangerous substances from our community.
